QING MING 2012 - NIRVANA SEMENYIH (OLD & NEW HILLS)

It is Qing Ming festival again for the Chinese, a time to pay homage to our ancestors' graves.  Young and old will take this opportunity to pray before their ancestors, sweep and clean the tombs and not forgetting offerings of food, libations, joss paper offerings to the ancestors. This rites have a long tradition and remain a revered event which is keenly observed by all Chinese till today. It is a common practice of Filial Piety.

I would like to share with you the following useful tips from our Parks for your easy reference:

1. Super Peak Days :
25 & 31  March, 2012, 1 & 8 April, 2012  
- Opening hours 6am - 5pm

2. Peak Day :
17,18 & 24 March, 2012 ; 4 & 7 April, 2012 
- Opening hours 7am - 5pm

3. Please use Incense Burners on both sides of the zones or ask for one from the workers on site.  Do not burn joss offerings on the turfing area.

4. Umbrella will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please do not use the umbrellas to hang ignited firecrackers as this will damage the umbrellas.

5. Prayer paraphernalia is available for sale near the Old Hills Da Ba Gong temple.

6. Authorisation to open Urn Compartment form is exempted on the above dates.

7. Follow traffic directional signs put up along the road and park your vehicle at the designated lots to avoid traffic obstructions.
