Hokkien Taoist Funeral

With a family tree of more than 120 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, this is by far my largest funeral service experience todate.

A fantastic lady she was, the late Mdm Teoh, passed away peacefully at the grand old age of 100.

Her life story was simply legendary; She brought up a total of 11 children of her own and at the same time adopted a few more along the way.  As one of her daughters related to me what her late mother had said of the adoptions: "Since I am taking care of a few now, there makes no difference by adding another...".  So, the family grew bigger as the years gone by.

She virtually brought up all the children single handedly as her late husband passed away when their youngest child was only nine years old. She was one steadfast lady who was far sighted and careful with her planning and spendings.

Today, all of her children and their family members will come back to their "kampung" very frequently to see their "Tai Po" or Ah Mah, like they call out to her during the prayers. They come back for the fun of running around the big compound which is full of fruit trees, a water well and lots of vegetables and greens. Spending time with their great grandma and enjoy their uncle's weekly delicious cooking.

I can see them playing and cycling around at the backyard in between the prayers' break. Children yelling and having fun even though it was at their great grandma's wake. Deep inside me, I know this is a very successful Great Grandma who is so blessed with such a large family whom are all living in perfect harmony.

May your soul rest in Eternal Peace, Mdm Teoh.

Taoist Hokkien Funeral

I had the opportunity to meet with the Yew brothers, who are all practicing professionals at a private hospital in the Klang Valley.  Their father was in critical condition and they took the doctor's advice to initiate preparation for the inevitable.

After a round of presentation to the family, they bought the idea of our 1+1 Loyalty program, which helped them with substantial savings.  They bought a Double Urn Compartment at Nirvana Shah Alam with a cash discount of RM2,000.00 and along with the purchase, they were given another 40% discount to the funeral service package which saw another huge savings of RM9,520.00.  All in all, they saved a total RM11,520.00 from the "Pre-planning" purchase.

A week later, the eldest brother, Mr Yew T.S. called me one early morning to inform of his father's passing.

Our service crew responded with immediate action and claimed the remains from the hospital and brought to Nirvana Memorial Center for the en-coffin preparation, i.e. cleaning and embalming of the remains, dressing and make-up proper.

A Hokkien ritual was conducted by our Taoist Sifu and the late Mr Yew was cremated at Nirvana Shah Alam and his ashes was placed at Ming Palace II, a compartment closed to the Goddess of Mercy which provide much peace of mind and solace to the family.
