Buddhist Funeral Service

It was raining cats and dogs at about 5.30pm when I received a call from Mr Tan informing me of his father's passing at Sungai Buloh Hospital.  It was all sadness and uncertainties that I can hear at the other end of the line with the siblings asking questions in between sobs of how soon can I get to them. I can't blame them for they are all in a very unfamiliar situation.  During this time of need, I have always tried my best to reach to and be with my clients as soon as possible. I know nothing beats to be by their sides when they needed you most.

Having stuck in a chock-a-block, snail paced traffic, the journey took me a good two hours from Subang Jaya to reach the hospital. It was as helpless as you can be in a bumper to bumper evening peak hour jam.

I was lucky that I caught hold of my brother, aka our Business Development Director, Mr Yap Yin Hong who happened to be travelling on the road then.  He rushed to the scene to provide comfort and assurance to the family and at the same time coordinated with the Service Team for the claiming of the remains.  It was "Teamwork" displayed at its best in this scenario.

After the remains has left the hospital in our transport, we took the family for a quick dinner at one of the Highway's stopover restaurants, knowing very well that they will have no appetite for a proper dinner as everyone has just gone thru the saddest moment of their lives. But we know that they still need to eat something because we have yet to finalise many details of the funeral arrangements; And all these are pending discussion with our Service Consultant who is waiting for us at our Nirvana Memorial Center located at Sungei Besi, Kuala Lumpur.

On arrival at the center, the immediate family members were briefed of the entire funeral service arrangement by our Service Consultants and they have also chosen the casket, ash urn and costume (These are the main items needed to be decided before commencement of the encoffin process). With all funeral arrangements sorted out, the family finally left for home around 10pm feeling a little more relieved.

The late Mr Tan was brought home the next day for a three days two nights Buddhist wake prayers and his ashes was installed at Tang Villa 2, Nirvana Shah Alam.

We pray that his soul will rest in eternal peace.
